Cemetery Gravestone Inscriptions

This is a listing by town of all cemeteries for which the MCHA Library & Archives holds at least one transcription of burials.

For the most part, these lists of internments have been taken from headstones; there are a few instances where these lists have come from the church records.

Often, there will be more than one work for a single cemetery, and these can differ in content. Where more than one transcription exists, it is important that the researcher compare them. Many of these works have been indexed by name.

Our Cemetery Inscription index is updated yearly.  Click here for the latest version.

Please note: In this document "Raser" refers to: Raser, Edward J. "New Jersey Graveyard and Gravestone Inscription Locators: Monmouth County" (2002).  A copy of this book is available in our library.
