The Juvenile Grange was an auxiliary organization of the National Grange organization. The first Juvenile Grange that was officially recognized was formed in Texas in 1888. The National Grange later formed a definite set of rules to govern the Juvenile Granges around the country in 1922. The members of these Juvenile Granges were girls and boys 6 to 16 years old.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of a group of assorted papers, meeting records, banking papers, and records, and other items pertaining to the Juvenile Grange No. 32 (Hightstown) 1930-1950.  The Manual for Juvenile Grange Leaders includes a history of the Juvenile Grange as well as the goals and principles of the organization. More background information is included in the other Manual and Digest. The records portion of the collection pertains to the internal workings of Juvenile Grange No. 32. Included are the number of members and financial statements.

Series Description

The papers of the Juvenile Grange No 32 are divided into two series: I. Guidelines and II. Records

Series I. Guidelines (2 folders) Includes Manual for Juvenile Grange Leaders, Juvenile Grange Song Book, Pamphlets, Juvenile Grange Manual, and Digest (1941)

Series II. Records (3 folders) Includes meeting minutes, membership records, financial documents, and receipts.
